Matt Carlson is an Executive Vice President and the Co-Head of U.S. Office Capital Markets. Alongside fellow Co-Head Patrick Gildea, Matt is responsible for coordinating with institutional capital in order to maximize distribution of National Office Partners (NOP) marquee listings. In addition, he drives national coordination and collaboration among CBRE's NOP to capitalize on their extensive local market expertise. Under his leadership, NOP has grown transaction volume by 74% and moved CBRE to the #1 office capital markets platform in 2025, according to MSCI.
Matt is an investment sales professional who takes pride in creating disproportionate value to institutional office, life science and industrial real estate investors in the region. Based in San Diego, Matt has two decades of experience and has successfully transacted over $7.3B for institutional clients. Prior to his career as an investment sales professional, Matt was a top leasing professional in San Diego, having transacted over 11 million square feet of office, lab and development.
Prior to joining CBRE in 2015, Matt led the Cushman & Wakefield San Diego Agency Leasing team for over a decade. Before starting his career in real estate, Matt coached collegiate rowing at Brown University and Rutgers University while vying for a seat on the 2000 US Olympic Rowing Team.
